Hot Summer in Kyoto is the largest and most pioneering contemporary dance workshop festival in Japan. This year it invites world-front-runner choreographers and dancers from France, Belgium, Finland, South Korea and Hong Kong to offer a comprehensive program designed to strengthen the expertise of body work, method, creation and dance and to broaden the relationship of dance with society. The festival starts with its gorgeous pre-programs such as a labyrinth dance tour by Ko MUROBUSHI in Shiga Kaikan, and officially opens with “A Vida Enorme/BIG LIFE”, a joint performance with the Centre National de Danse Contemporaine Angers (CNDC). The main program period features a variety of workshops, showing, lectures/talks, video salons, body salons, and Angers-Kyoto dance exchanges. This will surely help you to explore a path to receiving trainings abroad. Hot Summer in Kyoto wishes you to enjoy the skill, the knowledge, the exchange, and the communication through the body, “Bodylogue” in Kyoto of fresh green.
