14th Kyoto International Dance Workshop Festival 10 April-10 May

This year’s theme：Body wisdom

The largest and pioneering workshop festival of contemporary dance in Japan, so-called “Hot Summer”. This year it invites under the theme of “Body Wisdom” world-leading dancers and choreographers from France, Belgium, Finland, Korea and U.S.A., to offer professional dance programs designed from multifaceted perspectives for training the body, creativity, and thinking, and life-dance (dances enjoyed in people’s life and daily living) programs tailored for ordinary people and children. The workshop programs revisit the historical, geographical and cultural expanses to realize the body wisdom again and seek an ideal body for surviving this age. This festival proposes that dance should grow as an artistic expression and that people and opportunities should link with each other to expand in an organic manner.
