Hot Summer in Kyoto 2010
15th Kyoto International Dance Workshop Festival:I term

Body Axis ─Axis of Body, Axis of Soul

Hot Summer in Kyoto celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. Its small workshops started by a group of dancers who had a strong will to dance and study with the world has grown into one of the largest dance festival in Japan. Hot Summer is so much thankful to its fortunate and precious links with those people with dance fever, Japanese and overseas choreographers, dancers and cultural institutions. In such an era of turmoil, Hot Summer wants to share with many people fun of “moving”, pleasure of “dancing”, and delight of “knowing the body”. The world where people are connected and understand with each other through the body. Movements of some people ‘s body may internalize great wisdom connected to “history”, and movements of others’ may be based on a strong impulse to break through the “present”. This festival navigates the future by the force of the past and present of the dance, the interlacing of the places and the world, and axis added by all of you.
